About us
Directed synthetic voice, from a neighbourhood studio
VoiceSynth is a generative-AI voice and voiceover studio on Dundas West in Toronto's Little Portugal creative district. We are a professional services firm — not a text-to-speech app, not a stock library, and not a course. The .pro domain is branding; "Synth" means voice synthesis, not music synthesizers or synthetic biology.
Why we built a voice studio here
Toronto's west-end creative corridor is full of agencies, post houses, and founders who need narration yesterday — but who also care how that narration was made. VoiceSynth started when a few audio producers kept getting the same question: "Can you make this script sound human, in six languages, without booking six actors and a airline's worth of studio time?"
The honest answer involved generative audio tools, but never without direction. Speech synthesis alone gives you words; voice direction gives you intent. We built a compact Toronto studio where neural voices, text-to-speech pipelines, and consented custom voice design are handled by people who argue about pacing at lunch.
Our Suite 102 space is a low-rise creative address — booth, desk, and review room, not a tower-floor call centre. Canadian brands, scale-ups, and agencies visit for casting sessions or join directed reviews remotely. Every CAD project receives documented deliverables, revision rounds, and usage rights.
How we work
Our team combines voice directors, audio editors, and localization leads — no fabricated credentials, no invented awards. We choose models and licensed neural voices based on script demands, language, and brand voice fit, not hype cycles.
Human-in-the-loop review is mandatory. Generative-AI speech can mispronounce names, flatten emotion, or introduce subtle artefacts. We catch those in session, log revision notes, and do not ship until a director signs off. Podcast narration, e-learning modules, in-product prompts, and ad voiceover all follow the same standard.
We are plain-spoken about limits. Rush turnarounds cost more. Some voices will not work for your script. We will tell you before you spend the budget.
Responsible AI
Consent, rights, and what we refuse
Responsible AI at VoiceSynth means documented consent for every custom voice, clear usage-rights licensing on deliverables, and a firm no to impersonation, scam audio, and deceptive speech passed off as a real person's genuine statement.
We only use voices that are licensed or provided with explicit written consent. Consented voice cloning is available only when talent agreements and publicity rights are in order. We do not replicate celebrities, colleagues, or public figures on request. Clients remain responsible for final usage clearance on any reference material they supply.
We are a voice studio serving Canadian organizations — marketing teams, product groups, e-learning producers, game studios, and podcast networks. We clarify licensing for broadcast, digital, in-product, and training channels. AI outputs are tools in a directed process; they are not a substitute for legal advice on copyright or publicity rights.
If you need a self-serve TTS subscription or a clone-anyone tool, we are not the right fit. If you need the right voice for the script — cast, directed, cleared — we should talk.
